My name is Derek, and I am a photo student at Columbia College Chicago, bicycle racer, and a parts guy at a motorcycle shop.
As a child, I enjoyed everything that was fast, and any activity that gave me a rush. I consider myself a child of the first generation of extreme sports. I partially grew up with image that brands like X-games and Mountain Dew portayed of our “Generation-X”. I participated heavily in BMX, motocross, and snowboarding even while participating in basketball and soccer like “normal” kids. As I got older, I dropped stick-and-ball sports entirely for motocross, supermoto, and snowbaording.
Now as I age, my choice or sport has changed, along with my friends I made participating in these sports.
This blog is a document of an aging “extreme sports” participant and his ilk.

Good stuff Derek! Shoot more!
